Manchester City Council has awarded a five-year property management contract to Jacobs Engineering Group.

The deal, which has an option for a two-year extension, will see Jacobs support the council's growth strategy for the city.

Under the contract, the Group will; manage the council's investment estate for efficient operation; provide professional and technical work such as asset valuations, acquisitions, disposals and investment reports, as well as rent reviews, leases and associated support.

The council's Principal Development Surveyor, Gillian Boyle, said: "Jacobs submitted a high quality and competitive tender, and we are looking forward to developing our relationship with their team in what will be an exciting but challenging period for the Council."

Jacobs' Senior Vice President Buildings and Infrastructure, Bob Duff, added: "We look forward to continuing to work closely with Manchester City Council and its Strategic Development Directorate, discovering ways to help deliver key objectives for its property portfolio more efficiently."
