A major milestone has been reached on a £9.1 million retirement living scheme in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
The final roof tiles have been installed to mark the completion of external works on the 54-apartment scheme in Orton Brimbles.
The over-55's Lapwing Apartments facility is being built by Lovell on behalf of Cross Keys Homes.
The one- and two-bedroom development includes communal facilities such as a restaurant, library and community lounge.
Chris Cooper, project manager for Lovell, said: "Completing the roof is a huge milestone on this build and a great achievement for all involved. This is a fantastic building which will be an important asset to the local community and the city. We are now looking forward to working with Cross Keys Homes to fit out the apartments and communal spaces to the highest standards, to provide attractive and modern homes for the lucky residents."
Mary Bryce, care business development manager, who helped to lay some of the final tiles, added: "The development has now reached that really exciting stage where we can concentrate on the interior of the building, to bring it to life. With fantastic apartments and facilities that include a restaurant, orangery, and meeting rooms that will be open to local people and groups, Lapwing Apartments will become a focal point of the neighbourhood."
