ISG has won a £22 million contract to build nearly 200 new apartments in Norwich.

The contractor will deliver the first phase of 437 new homes at the St Anne's Quarter development in the city centre.

The scheme, which is being carried out for developer Orbit, will see 190 apartments built at the site over the next two years. Work is scheduled to begin in April.

Maggie McCann, Development Director at Orbit, said: "The contract marks an important milestone in our £80million transformation of this city centre site, which previously stood empty for twenty years. As the first of the new apartments go up, Orbit's vision for St Anne's Quarter will really start to come to life."

Danny Blakeston, Managing Director of ISG's Engineering Services business, added: "This latest win will build on a strong partnership with Orbit, transforming an underused site to deliver modern, high-quality mixed-tenure homes."

Once completed, the St Anne's Quarter development will offer 437 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and houses available through a mix of affordable and private rent, shared ownership and outright sale.
