Beard has selected Darren Miller as its new Commercial Director.

Having joined the company's Board in 2006, Mr Miller will be responsible for managing all commercial activity and central procurement of Beard's £137 million turnover company which operates across the South of England.

Previously, he worked as a managing surveyor for Mansell, now part of Balfour Beatty.

In addition, Mr Miller has extensive commercial management experience and knowledge of construction delivery from project procurement, risk and contract management, to managing customer and supply chain relationships and successful project delivery.

David Sershall, Beard's Managing Director, said: "With over 30 years' experience in commercial management and an excellent delivery track record in Beard – I am confident that Darren will add significant value to the business and our leadership team."

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Miller said: "I'm looking forward to using my commercial and contractual expertise in this challenging new role and providing support and guidance to our regional teams.

"I want to focus on maximizing Beard's commercial opportunities, building on our great relationships with our customers and suppliers, and helping to ensure the Group delivers a consistently strong business performance."
