Barnwood Construction has won a £13 million contract to build a new office and laboratory facility at Oxford Science Park.
The Gloucestershire-based company will develop over 60,000 sq ft of Category A office facilities, along with laboratories and a roof terrace, on Plot 12 of the Park. Work is scheduled to start on 20 February, with completion scheduled for March 2018.
Managing Director (MD) of The Oxford Science Park, Piers Scrimshaw-Wright, said: "Barnwood's appointment is a result of their clear track record in delivering major buildings, often complex, to the high quality that is expected by the Park's development team.
"We look forward to working with Barnwood to deliver the much-needed Grade A office and laboratory space to those local businesses looking to expand and those global companies looking for a landmark prestigious UK building in a thriving community."
Simon Carey, MD of Barnwood, added: "We are delighted to have been appointed to construct this prestigious and exceptional building on The Oxford Science Park. We will deliver a Category A office building to the landlord's specification and have the capability to deal with future occupiers' Category B fit out works delivering bespoke internal configurations.
"The majority of our contracts are undertaken on a design and build basis. We pride ourselves on having a complete understanding of our clients' needs in terms of timing and quality."
