Keepmoat has acquired land to deliver the first phase of a 560-home residential scheme in West Yorkshire.
The contractor has paid £3.65 million for nearly 10 acres of Harworth's Flass Lane scheme in Castleford. Plans include building 157 plots over the next 18 months once primary infrastructure works are finished at the site in the early summer.
The overall development has outline consent in place for 560 residential plots, up to 50,000 sq. ft of employment development and associated public open space.
Owen Michaelson, Harworth's Chief Executive Officer, said the contract exchange continues the developer's programme of phased sales from its portfolio of sites
"We believe the deal is a clear reflection of Harworth's ability to transform land into optimised sites for housebuilding customers," he said.
"The UK still needs further brownfield land for new housing and ongoing demand in the regional housing markets we operate in remains strong."
