Kier has promoted Barry Jupp to managing director of its Highways business within the Infrastructure division, effective 1 July 2026.
He will oversee the delivery of essential road construction and maintenance services across the UK, leading an around 2,000-strong team. His priorities include supporting customers across local authority and strategic road network contracts and projects, while continuing to develop a safe, high-performing and customer-focused operation.
Jupp has been with Kier for more than 23 years, progressing through a series of leadership roles and most recently serving as finance director for Transportation. During his tenure, he has helped shape business performance and strategy, supported delivery of major contracts, strengthened commercial discipline, and advanced safety and wellbeing, operational delivery and digital capability. He has also sat on several joint venture boards in collaboration with industry partners.
