Kier Promotes Barry Jupp To MD For Highways

Kier has promoted Barry Jupp to managing director of its Highways business within the Infrastructure division, effective 1 July 2026.

He will oversee the delivery of essential road construction and maintenance services across the UK, leading an around 2,000-strong team. His priorities include supporting customers across local authority and strategic road network contracts and projects, while continuing to develop a safe, high-performing and customer-focused operation.

Jupp has been with Kier for more than 23 years, progressing through a series of leadership roles and most recently serving as finance director for Transportation. During his tenure, he has helped shape business performance and strategy, supported delivery of major contracts, strengthened commercial discipline, and advanced safety and wellbeing, operational delivery and digital capability. He has also sat on several joint venture boards in collaboration with industry partners.

Commenting on his appointment, Barry said: "I'm proud to be taking on the role of managing director for Highways. Having spent much of my career in the business, I know the strength of our brilliant teams, the importance of the services we provide, and the value of the relationships we've built with our customers, supply chain and partners. My focus is to build on the strong foundations already in place, supporting our people to perform at their best, and continuing to improve how we deliver for our customers with safety and consistency at the heart of everything we do."
