Industry-Wide SmartCard Audit To Take Place

Construction News Image
An industry-wide skills cards audit is scheduled to take place across UK construction sites next week.

The audit, led by Build UK and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), will be held on Wednesday, 08 February. The organisation's members will check for skills cards carrying the CSCS logo, as specified as a requirement by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC).

Overall, the SmartCard Audit will promote the value of smart technology used by CSCS and its affiliated schemes to drive increased industry uptake and highlight any expired/fraudulent cards, as well as ensuring individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications.

Build UK Chief Executive Suzannah Nichol MBE said the SmartCard Audit is a chance for the organisations to understand what steps need to be taken to "fully integrate smart technology into the industry's daily practices".

"By emphasising the benefits of SmartCards and driving increased industry uptake, Build UK and its members can continue to lead positive change in the industry," she said.
