Network Rail is continuing work to build a new depot in Lancashire.
The company is developing a new facility at Blackburn to support wider improvement works across the North West railway.
The latest phase of works includes developing new drainage, track and signalling work. Work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, 10 February.
Lauren Jones, scheme project manager for Network Rail, said: "The new train depot in Blackburn will support wider improvements across the North West to provide passengers with a better, more reliable railway."
As part of the project, an informational drop-in session will be held for local residents to find out more information about the scheme.
The event will take place between 4pm – 7pm at St Wilfrid's Church of England Academy on Thursday, 19 January.
