Plans Approved For Chester Care Home Development

Plans have been approved for a new care-home development in Chester.

The 60-bed facility will be built by LNT Care Developments on the site of the former Red Lion Hotel in Nantwich. Work is scheduled to begin in June.

Features will include accommodation with fully en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas and modern amenities including a cinema, library, garden room and tea shop.

Overall, the development will be designed for local people who may be frail, elderly or living with dementia.

Christine Cooper, Project Director at LNT Care Developments, said: "We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home. It is also great news for Nantwich creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high quality resource for elderly people in the local community. The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps, solar thermal panels and LED lighting keeping utility costs low."

The scheme is scheduled to be completed by May 2018.
