S Jones Containers has delivered new bespoke boiler housing for Adams Bakery, trading as Heathrow Bakery.
The company, which supplies baked goods for the airline and prepared meal industry, turned to S Jones as their expansion plans required a new bespoke boiler housing.
The project resulted in three modified containers being supplied as custom-made enclosures for a Babcock steam boiler and Heuft oil boilers.
Two 40' high cube units have been joined together to create a double-width clear-span enclosure, and one 20' unit for the bespoke bakery boiler housings.
Heathrow Bakery general manager David Taylor said: "We were searching for someone who could provide a cost-effective bespoke enclosure in a very short time. We couldn't put the boilers inside our current buildings and so custom-made enclosures were the answer to our problem.
"Steam from the Babcock boiler is required for the baking process in the proofer to raise the bread and in the oven to control the yeast and create shine on the crust. The other container enclosure is for the oil heaters which heat the ovens."
Mr Taylor said the containerised solution allowed their engineers to be more efficient in the maintenance of the equipment
"From the moment we approached them, S Jones were superb from the inquiry through design to the final product delivered to site," he said.
"The team provided design and support with very good technical advice for all three of the containers supplied. The whole process was handled professionally and competently throughout and we now have three containers in place as per the design drawing and exactly for the purpose required."
Overall, S Jones' team of specialist design engineers can transform containers into highly sophisticated containerised solutions for equipment and processes worldwide - for test facilities, power generation, solar farm electrical enclosures, restaurant complexes, water pumps, fire suppression, housing, and a host of other applications.
