The National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) has reached a record level of membership since the organisation was formed in 1945.

With a total membership of 229, two companies are currently in the site audit process and overall membership is expected to reach 230 by the year end.

The news was announced at NASC's AGM last week, along with the winners of the organisation's first ever Product Innovation Award: Acorn Scaffolding (Yorkshire).

Other highlights of the meeting include the restructuring of NASC's Council; Alan Harris (Pro-Fix Access Ltd), Sean Pike (Layher Ltd) and Rob Lynch (Lyndon Scaffolding plc) have been elected as co-opted members of the NASC Council, effective for two years.

Managing Director, Robin James, said: "2016 has been another exceptionally strong year for the confederation and its members – from the wide use and acceptance of the updated SG4:15 'Preventing Falls in Scaffolding Operations' to the introduction of new members to the confederation and the launch of the successful new Product Innovation award and lots more besides. It's fabulous to see the membership and scaffolding sector flourishing."
