Network Rail is to begin a major railway upgrade project this weekend in Avonmouth.
Engineers will start carrying out renewal works to the track as well as resurfacing the Gloucester Road level crossing on Saturday, 03 December.
Overall, the works aim to allow this section of track to operate at a higher speed, improve safety and reduce noise elements affecting nearby residents.
Sam Derry, Network Rail's scheme sponsor for the project, said: "We recognise that construction work on the railway can be disruptive to those living or working nearby. The nature of our work often means some disturbance is unavoidable, but I would like to assure residents that every effort will be made to minimise any unnecessary noise and we have reminded all staff to be considerate to our neighbours."
The full schedule of works are as follows:
• From 6.30pm Saturday, 03 December- 5.30am Monday, 05 December
• From 6.30pm Saturday, 10 December to 5.30am Monday, 12 December
