Work Starts On £20m University Of Nottingham Learning Hub

Work is underway on a new £20 million Teaching and Learning Hub at The University of Nottingham.

The new 5,000 m2 facility is being built on the University Park campus and is due for completion in early 2018.

Designed by architectural practice Make, the new building will be located adjacent to the Hallward Library and will comprise a range of teaching facilities, as well as staff and student amenities. Other features include a number of interactive teaching rooms, a collaborative lecture theatre, a performing arts space, social learning hub and staff offices.

James Marshall, Director at Gleeds, who are providing project management services, said: "The new facilities seeks to provide a greater educational experience and will help attract both national and international students to the city of Nottingham. We are delighted to be involved in this project and look forward to seeing it complete."

David Patterson, Partner at Make, added: "This will be a beautiful building on a beautiful campus. We are aiming to create an inspiring environment for both students and teachers and one which will accommodate current and future demands for light, vibrant, student-focused spaces."
