Leeds City Council has extended its highways and transportation services contract with Mouchel.

The engineering firm was recently acquired by WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff and will continue to work with the local authority until August 2018. It has been working with the council since 2003.

Mouchel will provide a range of services across highways, structures, transport planning, urban design and environmental factors from inception, to feasibility and design, to construction.

James Woodhead, commission director for the Leeds/Mouchel Partnership, said: "Having worked on this contract for 13 years, our team has built a strong relationship with Leeds City Council and we're pleased that this alongside our commitment to service quality has been recognised with a further extension to our contract. We're looking forward to continuing our work to help the council deliver excellence to the people of Leeds."

Gary Bartlett, Chief Officer, Highways and Transportation at the council, added: "We are delighted to extend the current contract to 31st August 2018. We currently have a very full programme of works from major new transport schemes through to an extensive maintenance programme related to our existing infrastructure."
