The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has expanded its senior team by appointing Mark Noonan as its Industry Relations Director.
With extensive experience in the construction and retail sectors, Mr Noonan will help the organisation engage with the industry and gain a better understanding of its needs.
In addition, he will ensure the CITB is and communicating effectively with employers and federations across England, Scotland and Wales, supported by CITB's Partnership teams.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr Noonan said: "Construction is an industry I am extremely passionate about and I'm excited to be taking on this challenging role.
"CITB has a huge role to play in delivering industry's skills and helping employers navigate a changing political landscape.
"Key to my success will be getting out there, engaging across the industry, and ensure our work at CITB is even more effective."
Adrian Belton, CITB Chief Executive, added: "I am delighted to bring Mark in to this newly created role and am sure he will do a great job on behalf of the industry.
"At a time of major change, Mark will ensure that I and all my colleagues are working effectively with our industry, from the smallest firms to the biggest. Mark's experience, skills and enthusiasm will undoubtedly help us to do that.”
Mr Noonan is joining the organisation from property and contracting business Simons Group where he is currently Customer Development and Relationship Director.
Previously, he worked for supermarket chain, Safeway, including a key role in their conversion to Morrison's, before moving from customer side into the construction industry, undertaking many delivery roles including project leadership for the Wates Group.
