Persimmon has revealed plans to build a new brick manufacturing facility in South Yorkshire.
The 'Brickworks' project will provide up to 88 million bricks each year and is due to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2017.
Howard Civil Engineering is underway with developing foundations at the 14.76 acre site in Harworth and work is expected to take six months.
In a trading statement today, 02 November, Persimmon said trading was "encouraging" despite the economic effects following the EU Referendum. Private sales have risen 19% compared to last year, including £757 million of forward sales reserved beyond 2016, a 4% rise on the same period last year.
The company said: "The Group opened 108 new housing developments in the first half of the year and has launched a further 102 new sites in the second half to date. We expect to open c. 45 new sites in the remaining weeks of 2016."
