Keepmoat is continuing work on a £30 million housing regeneration project in South Shields.

The contractor is currently building 223 new homes at the Trinity South development as part of the South Shields Riverside Regeneration plan. The scheme, which involves transforming a rundown retail area, is being delivered along with five other neighbourhoods and completion is scheduled for 2020.

Due to increased interest from potential customers, Keepmoat has revealed it will build a further 24 apartments at the site.

Lindsay Hall, sales manager for Keepmoat in the North East, said: "We recognised that there was a distinct demand for a smaller product which would cater for first time buyers in the region. These growing market demands led to the decision to provide stylish new apartments, which would complement the existing scheme."
