Plans have been approved for a new care home facility in Northampton.
LNT Care Developments will start building a 66-bed care facility next month in Duston. The project is due to be completed by September 2017.
The centre will be built adjacent to the St Luke's Primary Care Centre and will care for people over 65-years-old who may be frail, elderly or living with dementia. Features include fully en-suite bedrooms, large communal areas and modern amenities/gardens.
Christine Cooper, Project Director at LNT Care Developments, said: "We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home for Oakdale Care Group. It is also great news for Duston creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high quality resource for elderly people in the local community. The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps, solar thermal panels and LED lighting keeping utility costs low."
Chris Babington, Finance Director at Oakdale Care Group, who will own and operate the facility, added: "We are proud at Oakdale Care Group to be able to deliver these outstanding luxury homes to the local residents of Duston in September of next year. Our partners at LNT have helped us create truly magnificent homes that will allow us to provide the exceptional care and services that we want all of our residents to experience and benefit from."
