Contractors are to begin a roundabout maintenance scheme next week in Northumberland.
Resurfacing work at Highfields roundabout in Berwick will start on Monday, 17 October.
Features include resurfacing the junction on the A1 as well as kerb replacements. The scheme will take place between 8pm – 6am and is expected to be completed by the beginning of November.
The work will be carried out in five phases taking into account the five approaches. Once the new kerbing is installed, the inner lane will be closed during the day to allow concrete to set.
Highways England Project Manager Steve Bishop said: "This project will provide drivers with safer journeys around Highfields roundabout on the A1 in Berwick.
"Every effort is being made to ensure disruption to traffic is kept to a minimum. We are carrying out as much work as we can overnight while traffic levels are at their lowest."
