Morrison Utility Services (MUS) is to begin a £1.3 million water mains improvement project in Whitby.
The scheme is being carried out for Yorkshire Water and will get underway on Monday, 26 September.
The project, which involves replacing 13km of water mains in over 40 different streets, will be completed by March 2017.
Dave Standish, Yorkshire Water Project Manager said: "We hope the local community can bear with us whilst we carry out these improvements and we’ll do our best to minimise any disruption. We have written to local residents already and will continue to keep the local community informed of our progress."
A public drop-in session for residents to find out more information about the project will take place between 4pm – 7pm at the Northern Lights Suite today, 21 September.
