ISG has won a £61 million contract at the Imperial College London.
The contractor will fit-out the new home of the University's Department of Chemistry, which is currently being built by Laing O'Rourke.
The Department will occupy the campus' new 10-storey Molecular Sciences Research Hub. ISG will fit out the 275,000 sq ft structure with new laboratories across floors one to six. In addition, 337 fume cupboards will be installed, while the building's two basement levels will house specialist laboratory space and a 250-seat lecture theatre, including an advanced Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) suite. A suite of laser and low electric noise laboratories will also be installed within the basement.
The scheme is expected to take 12-months and once complete, the facility will achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
The contract award will see ISG return to the College's new White City Campus after beginning the regeneration of the West London site in 2012.
Professor Alan Armstrong, Head of the Department of Chemistry, said: "The Molecular Sciences Research Hub will be a truly world-class facility that will allow us to make a profound contribution to both academia and society in molecular sciences research relevant to healthcare, energy and the environment."
Danny Blakeston, managing director of ISG's Engineering Services business, added: "Our return to the White City Campus to deliver a key element of Imperial's research and innovation vision reinforces our strong working relationship and specialist credentials in the technical fit out arena."
