Carillion has won a £90 million contract to provide support services for multinational utility company Centrica.

The company will deliver facilities management and project services over a five-year period. The contract is scheduled to begin in December 2016.

Features of the deal includes carrying out asset surveys and planning, planned and reactive maintenance, cleaning, security and catering for 115 Centrica locations in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The agreement also involves a number of certain construction projects for Centrica.

The new contract can be extended to seven years and builds on a previous relationship with Centrica, which has seen Carillion work in partnership with the business for over a decade.

Carillion's Chief Executive, Richard Howson, said: "We have worked closely with Centrica since 2005 and built a strong partnership. We are delighted to be extending this relationship, which is based on a one-team approach in which Carillion and Centrica work together to deliver award-winning standards of facilities management and customer service across all Centrica and British Gas sites."
