Kier has secured a £48 million contract to expand and develop ARM's headquarters (HQ) in Cambridge.
The project will be delivered at the technology firm's campus at Peterhouse Technology Park, Fulbourn and is due to be completed by autumn 2017.
Kier will develop 18,000 sq m of Grade A office space along with two multi-storey car parks including 800 spaces. The buildings will also be linked to the existing ARM buildings by a new estate road.
The contractor will use a steel frame and curtain walling to develop the office building, including a bespoke vertical aluminium Brise Soleil solar shading to form a six-metre high saw tooth pattern.
The project will allow ARM to increase its Cambridge workforce by more than 3,000 people over the next five years.
Mark Dady, Managing Director for Kier Construction Eastern, said: "We're pleased to have been awarded the contract to develop ARM's global headquarters. We have a strong track record in delivering office space across the UK and are looking forward to providing a facility that will help ARM to continue expanding."
Mike Muller, chief technology officer and co-founder of ARM, added: "We are making a significant investment at our headquarters in Cambridge to help us deliver the next phase of company growth and Kier is a valuable partner in delivering our new centrepiece building."
