Building and civil engineering firm, Britcon has completed work on a £2.2 million vehicle inspection facility for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in Elmswell, Suffolk.
The new facility is to be used as a vehicle enforcement checkpoint, primarily for a range of safety checks on commercial vehicles.
Britcon undertook full site clearance and excavation of the former agricultural site on the north side of the A14 and put in place full infrastructure works including a new roundabout, road and drainage including attenuation pond.
It also built a check facility including inspection pit and roller brake testers. A new office block was also developed adjacent to the newly constructed weighbridge as well as lighting and appropriate landscaping.
