Up to £29 million is to be invested in transport upgrade projects in Lincoln.
The UK Government has committed to funding the development, which will see a new bus station and a 1,000-space car park built in the city.
Other features include upgrades to Lincoln Central Rail Station, a pedestrianised plaza connecting the bus and rail stations, cycle lanes, and traffic calming measures.
The Department for Transport (DfT) is providing £11m towards the project, with the city council providing £16m and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership contributing £2m.
The investment is being made after the Transport Secretary approved plans for a new eastern bypass earlier this year which will link the A158 Wragby Road with the A15 Sleaford Road.
Funding for the bypass is still being secured, however work on the £29m investment is expected to begin within weeks.
Transport Minister Andrew Jones said: "A new bus station, car park and upgraded railway station will be a huge benefit to people who live and work in Lincoln, and those who visit the city.
"Better transport facilities don't just help people get around, they help them get on – connecting them to jobs, opportunities and helping deliver economic growth."
