Engineers Complete Footbridge Upgrade In North Wales

Work has been completed on a footbridge upgrade project in North Wales.

Engineers carried out the scheme at Penmaenmawr Station as part of Network Rail's £40 billion Railway Upgrade Plan.

The 100-year-old footbridge was removed and underwent specialist refurbishment works and repairs at the Centregreat Rail workshop in Cardiff. Work included maintenance repairs, fitting a new foot deck, installing secondary handrails across the footbridge, repainting and installing new energy efficient LED lighting.

Chris Wildy, works delivery manager at Network Rail Wales, said: "Passengers and members of the public will be able to enjoy the use of a much improved, safer footbridge at the station following the completion of this work as part of our Railway Upgrade Plan."
