Graham Construction has begun work to build a £40 million private rented sector (PRS) development in Manchester.
The contractor will deliver 230 apartments for property developer Glenbrook on a 1.25-acre site in Castlefield.
Designed by AEW Architects, the project involves developing three buildings offering one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments between Ellesmere Street and Chester Road.
Each building will range from eight to 12 storeys, with a range of facilities including concierge, a gym, storage areas and basement car parking.
Gary Hughes, Regional Director for GRAHAM North of England, said: "Glenbrook and AEW Architects have created an ambitious scheme that will meet the demand for high-spec, aspirational living spaces with a strong sense of community.
"This is also the second PRS scheme that GRAHAM Construction has secured in Manchester, with work at Murrays' Mills in Ancoats starting earlier this year."
The project is expected to be completed in summer 2018.
