A £57,000 bridge maintenance project is to begin next week in Lancashire.
Highways England will start installing a new bridge joint at the D'Urton Lane bridge near junction 1 of the M55 on Monday, 15 August.
For safety reasons, a series of overnight motorway closures will take place from 9pm – 6am each night until the project is completed. Diversions and traffic management will be in place.
Highways England project manager Mark Mosley said: "Our regular inspections show water is getting into the bridge joint and we need to take action to ensure the bridge will continue to have a long life.
"We have planned the work carefully to take place at night when traffic is at its lowest levels."
