McMullen Facades has won a £16 million contract to work on a new high-rise tower development in London.
The contractor has been selected by Lendlease to deliver the full vertical envelope for the 31-storey 'The Highwood' in the Elephant & Castle area.
Designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architects, the new high-rise tower forms part of the West Grove scheme in Elephant Park. The district will feature two neighbourhoods known as Orchard Gardens and Highwood Gardens, and the Highwood building is the tallest within the development.
McMullen has been appointed to design, manufacture and install the fully unitised facade which features recessed balcony sliding doors and a glazed balustrade system, along with panoramic curtain walling and sliding doors to the penthouses. In addition, the contractor will also develop the louvre panels, soffit cladding and the bespoke aluminium feature cladding.
McMullen is expected to commence work on the site in early 2017.
