Work is to begin on a £231,000 bridge maintenance project in Cumbria.
Engineers will start repairing two bridges carrying the A590 over the main railway line for Barrow this weekend.
Work on the two structures, at Red Syke and Dykelands between Ulverston and Dalton-in-Furness, includes new paint treatment as well as concrete repairs.
The project will be carried out over eight Saturday nights and involves reducing the A590 to a single lane between 10pm – 10am.
Highways England project manager, Mark Mosley, said: "It is difficult to plan and deliver maintenance at these locations as the bridges are over the busy main line to Barrow but this project will complete repairs and maintenance we started in 2014 when we removed old concrete and cleaned the steel and concrete supports.
"This year's work will focus on finishing repairs and repainting the bridges and to do that we are using an innovative paint protection system requiring only two coats of paint which means we can do the job more quickly and minimise inconvenience to both road and rail users."
