Work is continuing on a major flood protection project in Stockton.
The scheme is being delivered by the Environment Agency (EA) and involves building new defences to reduce the risk of flooding from Lustrum Beck for over 150 homes and businesses.
Work is almost complete on a flood wall along the beck at Bedford Street, while a new lifting screen at the culvert at Primrose Hill is now operational.
Construction has also begun on a flood wall along Duddon Walk and work is progressing to raise embankments in the Newtown area.
Additional work to store extra flood water in the catchment upstream of Stockton is scheduled to begin in 2017.
Project Manager, Ted Thomas, said: "Work is progressing well on the Lustrum Beck scheme, with the new screen at Primrose Hill now operational and the flood wall at Bedford Street nearly complete.
"Work on the embankment at Newtown is well underway, and construction of a new flood wall at Duddon Walk has started ahead of schedule, so we’re hopeful much of the project will be complete by September."
