Keepmoat has been awarded a £12 million contract to build a new extra care development in Essex.
The housebuilder will develop 73 apartments on Radwinter Road in Saffron Walden for East Thames Housing Association (HA).
Features of the development include community facilities such as a lounge, a restaurant, and a communal garden. The apartments will also be available for rent or to part buy under a shared ownership scheme.
The project is to be completed by this winter.
Trevor Burns, East Thames' Executive Director of Development, Sales and Asset Management, said: "Keepmoat has a wealth of experience in delivering extra care and retirement projects and we're confident that they will support us to deliver a very high quality product."
Dan Germann, Regional Managing Director of Keepmoat's London and South Developments division, added: "This extra care scheme will provide 73 much-needed apartments for over 55s in Saffron Walden.
"Throughout the duration of this project, we will ensure the project works for the whole community with a focus on longevity of good quality housing, which gives residents access to supporting services and opportunities for lifelong learning, training, employment and care when needed."
