Work has been temporarily suspended on a new £10 million community centre in Cambridge.

ISG immediately closed the Clay Farm site in May after a cladding panel became dislodged and fell from the building. An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Alan Carter, project leader for Cambridge City Council, said the development will only re-open "when the facts of the incident have been fully established".

"While the delays to construction of the new Clay Farm Community Centre are regrettable, all the partners involved in the project agree that health and safety is the number one priority.

"As project leaders of the construction, the city council is liaising closely with our contractor and their sub-contractors to permanently resolve the issue as quickly as possible."
