Work is to begin on a railway signalling upgrade project in Worcestershire.
Network Rail will continue its equipment improvement scheme between Worcester Shrub Hill and Droitwich Spa stations from Saturday, 06 August.
The work involves refurbishing existing parts of equipment, some of which was installed in the 1860s and is unique to this section of the rail network.
Network Rail added as a result of the works, there is to be some disruption to rail services and diversions will be in place.
Emily Luszcz, Network Rail’s project manager, said: "The work between Worcester and Droitwich forms an important part of our Railway Upgrade Plan and will mean better, more reliable services for passengers in the area."
The project is to be completed by Wednesday, 10 August.
