Network Rail is due to begin a railway bridge upgrade project in Cornwall.
Engineers will carry out improvement works at the Saveock bridge in Truro to ensure the structure remains safe for users.
Features include removing the carriageway and existing bridge deck; the diversion of utility services; upgrades to the bridge’s structure; the installation of the new deck; and the reconstruction of the carriageway.
The project is part of Network Rail's £40 billion Railway Upgrade Plan to modernise its rail network.
To carry out the scheme safely, the bridge will be closed from Monday, 27 June to Friday, 14 October. Diversions will be in place.
George Bartlett, Network Rail’s project manager, said: "The work is essential to ensure the future of the bridge, which provides a vital route in and out of Truro, and we will be working hard to complete the improvements in as short a timeframe as possible."
