Atkins has secured a £3 million contract with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.

The consultancy will deliver a range of technical services to support the water utility company's clean water network.

The contract, which runs from July 2016 until 2019, includes: modelling and identification of water service related performance improvement requirements; the development of traditional and innovative asset and operational based solutions; feasibility studies; investment appraisals; and the design and development of solutions.

The company will identify areas of Welsh Water's system which needs renovating and requires investment. In addition, hydraulic models will be built to simulate how the network responds under different scenarios.

Atkins is currently working on three other frameworks for Welsh Water, including a water resources framework, asset management framework, and a strategic drainage framework.
