Work is to begin on a £125,000 flood alleviation project in Lancashire.
The scheme involves repairing drainage along the M55 near Blackpool and aims to reduce the potential of flooding from nearby fields.
Lane 1 of the eastbound carriageway will be closed until the end of June as work takes place, with a full overnight carriageway closure needed by the end of the project to remove traffic management cones and barriers.
Highways England project manager Peter Gee said: "These wear and tear repairs will ensure the motorway drainage will be able to cope better with water running off adjacent fields and reduce the potential for carriageway flooding."
