Resurfacing work is due to begin this week on the A45 Stonebridge Highway in the West Midlands.
Contractors will redevelop and resurface the slip road on the approach to Tollbar roundabout as part of the A45/A46 Tollbar End improvement scheme.
The project aims to increase capacity, improve journey times and boost safety on the route.
For safety reasons, the eastbound carriageway of the A45 Stonebridge Highway between Stivichall junction and Tollbar roundabout will be closed from 9pm on Friday, 10 June until 5am on Monday, 13 June.
Additional overnight closures will take place between 8pm – 6am on Monday, 13 June and Tuesday, 14 June.
Diversions will be in place.
Highways England project manager Paul Nagra said: "Our contractors will be digging out the existing carriageway and reconstructing the road, which is why it is essential that we close this section of the A45.
"Completing this work means drivers will be able to enjoy the benefits of a new roundabout layout when the new east bridge opens later this month. Once in place, this new layout will reduce queuing on the approach."
