Proposals have been submitted for a £185 million residential and office development in Manchester.

Both Muse Developments and Network Rail plan to build mixed-use facilities at a 2.5 acre site on Corporation Street, adjacent to the recently redeveloped £44m Victoria station.

Architecture firm Sheppard Robson are working on detailed design proposals for the project alongside Arup, while Deloitte are supporting the preparation of the detailed planning application.

Features include a 150,000 sq ft eight-storey office and two residential buildings containing up to 520 apartments.

Amenity space will also be built including a gym, 24-hour concierge, communal residents' lounge, cycle storage and a roof garden.

Each of the 20 and 25-storey residential buildings will be developed alongside public space, landscaping and car parking.

David Burkinshaw, development director at Muse, said: "Network Rail's £44 million investment at Manchester Victoria station has clearly provided a major catalyst for wider regeneration in the city, delivering much-needed jobs, homes and development opportunities.

"This deal with Muse will support Network Rail's commitment to unlock land for housing while generating income to be reinvested back into the railway."
