Willmott Dixon has secured a £12 million contract to build a vehicle depot in Barnet.
The company was selected under the Southern Construction Framework (SCF) and will develop a new base for Barnet's fleet of household waste collection and collection vehicles.
The new Oakleigh Road South Vehicle Depot will replace the current depot in Mill Hill, which is being redeveloped for housing.
Features include parking facilities for refuse and recycling collection vehicles, a vehicle maintenance building and cleaning bay, refuelling facilities and a covered bulking facility allowing recyclables to be put into larger vehicles for processing outside the borough.
The contract follows Willmott Dixon's successful project to build a New Vehicle Maintenance Depot in Cardiff.
Chris Tredget, Willmott Dixon MD, said: "We're delighted Barnet has chosen to use the SCF to procure our services and will be using our local team to build an excellent new vehicle depot that will be essential to the efficient running of waste collection in the Borough."
