Laing O'Rourke To Expand Shopping Centre In Watford

Laing O'Rourke has been selected to deliver a £178 million shopping centre extension project in Watford.

The company will expand intu Watford, creating a new 1.4 million sq ft retail/leisure destination.

A 113,000 sq ft Debenhams store will act as the anchor for the extension, with additional restaurant retailers and a nine-screen Cineworld cinema also confirmed.

Rebecca Ryman, regional director of intu, said: "Our £178m extension of intu Watford will transform the centre into a contemporary shopping experience providing a fantastic place to shop, eat and play. It will massively strengthen intu Watford as a destination which retailers want to invest in and our visitors enjoy."
