Engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald has appointed Richard Waite as its Director of Nuclear Generation.

With over 35 years' experience in the nuclear and defence industries, Mr Waite will be responsible for delivering the business' development portfolio in the nuclear generation market.

Mr Waite also spent 18 years working across the design, licensing, procurement, construction and commissioning of the UK nuclear fleet, including full lifecycle involvement of the Sizewell B pressurised water reactor.

Peter Black, Mott MacDonald's MD for power, said: "Richard's in-depth knowledge of project management and delivery, commercial awareness and technical ability will make him a great asset to our new nuclear generation initiative. His extensive contacts and networks in the nuclear sector will help raise our profile, win more work and attract high calibre staff."
