Morgan Sindall has been selected to deliver a £4.1 million school expansion project in Norwich.

The project involves building a 10-classroom extension to Queen's Hill Primary and Nursery School.

In addition, the assembly hall will be modified to create more space for indoor sports activities and deliver external landscaping including a new staff car park and planting areas outside the school.

Previously, Morgan Sindall built the single-storey school nearly 10 years ago.

The overall extension will see the school increase from a two-form to a three-form entry facility and is due to be completed by spring 2017.

James Joyce, Chairman of Norfolk County Council's Children's Services Committee, said: "This expansion will also provide the youngsters with modern facilities in pleasant surroundings, which will hopefully encourage greater enjoyment from learning in new classrooms and better opportunities for sporting activities."

Gavin Napper, area director at Morgan Sindall, added: "We're delighted to be making progress on this important scheme which will help to alleviate the growing pressure for school places in the Queen's Hill area."
