UCATT Appoints Regional Secretary In Eastern Region

Construction union UCATT has appointed Ron McKay as its Regional Secretary in its Eastern Region.

As a UCATT member for over 33 years, Mr McKay's first position in the organisation was as a convenor at a large joinery firm.

He had been acting as Regional Secretary on a temporary basis after Brian Rye became National Secretary and then Acting General Secretary.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Mckay said: "I'm very honoured to be given the opportunity to serve the union and the region as Regional Secretary. And I hope to provide help and good leadership for all our members in the region."
