A roofing company has been fined for safety failings after a worker fell through a skylight and suffered multiple injuries.
Haran Limited, of Clyst Road, Exeter, Devon, pleaded guilty to breaching Regulation 4(1) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
It was fined £18,000 with £1,070 in costs.
North and East Devon Magistrates' Court heard how an employee and two colleagues were working on an asbestos cement roof in order to re-roof an adjoining industrial unit, formerly an agricultural unit that was being used as a gym, on 18 November 2014.
However, the worker fell around three metres through a roof light to the ground below and suffered injuries to his head, wrist and hip.
An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) found the work had not been properly planned or adequately supervised.
