Work on a £7.6 million housing and care scheme in Buxton, Derbyshire, is to begin this summer.
Derbyshire County Council are developing the scheme, on the Brown Edge Road, in partnership with housing provider Housing & Care 21 and community regeneration specialist Keepmoat.
Local businesses are being urged to play a major part in the development, and at a recent 'Meet the Contractor' event 55 local tradespeople turned up to find out more about the range of construction jobs available.
The development, which received a £1 million contribution from the Homes and Communities Agency, will be made up of 53 two-bedroom extra care housing apartments, a 20-place residential care centre and communal facilities including a restaurant, hair salon and health suite.
Jobs on site will range from joinery, steelwork, tiling, windows and doors to landscaping, fencing, cladding, plumbing, security grilles and shutters.
