A road scheme in Liverpool has scooped an engineering award.
The scheme on Leeds Street has won the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation North West Regional award for Best Practice Project of the Year. It was also commended for Transportation Project of the year.
Liverpool City Council, Amey and King Construction worked together on the £3.5 million project.
It involved improved transport links, by removing pinch points at junctions. The scheme was funded by the Regional Growth Fund and included road resurfacing, LED street lighting, the regeneration of the public realm and innovative traffic and cycle signals
