Balfour Beatty Sells Stake In Yorkshire M1-A1 Link Road Project

Balfour Beatty has sold its stake in M1-A1 Link Road (Lofthouse to Bramham) DBFO Road Project.

HICL Infrastructure Company purchased the firms 30% interest in the scheme for £14.5 million.

The project is a 30 year shadow toll PFI concession for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a motorway linking the M1, M621 and M62 motorways to the south of Leeds and the A1(M) south of Wetherby.

It reached Financial Close in March 1996 and the concession is due to end in March 2026.

Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering is continuing to undertake operation and maintenance of the motorway.
