An Essex-based plumber has been sentenced to a community order after installing boilers while not registered with Gas Safe.
Martin Law (trading as Complete Heating and Plumbing) of Trotters Field, Braintree, Essex, pleaded guilty to breaching Regulations 3(3) and 3(7) of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
He was sentenced to a community order of 150 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months with costs of £663.
Chelmsford Magistrates' Court heard how Mr Law installed three gas boilers and associated pipework at premises in Faraday Close, Braintree, and Sycamore Grove Braintree during an eight month period between October 2014 and May 2015.
A Gas-Safe investigation into the work found defect in all three works.
In addition, a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation found Mr Law used a Gas-Safe logo on his vehicle and in a local magazine while he was not registered.
He also signed off gas work undertaken with an expired Gas Safe registration number.
